Originally, this was a private message to Ari. Then I realized that it could help any and everyone. So, here you go! (Loves yaa, Ari.)
Anyway. Without coding, most posts look like crap. I mean, even just regular replies on out of character boards. You look nooby without coding, so I'm going to teach you what I do! Yaaay.
Our example is going to be this:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog and then he went and massacred an entire city with a machine gun. yaaaaay, examples rock. lalalalalalalala.
So here we go! Without coding that looks like..well...this:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog and then he went and massacred an entire city with a machine gun. yaaaaay, examples rock. lalalalalalalala.
Kind of ugly, right?
Here's how to make it niiiice! :0
First, you just type whatever you want. So, we put our example text down.
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog and then he went and massacred an entire city with a machine gun. yaaaaay, examples rock. lalalalalalalala.
Then, highlight the text and look up at the "Add Tags" section about the smileys. In the second row there's a nifty button that puts down a code called Blockquote. I LOVE BLOCKQUOTES. (It's the arrow. ie: ---> ) In my posts, I do a double blockquote, which means (after I've highlighted the text) I hit that button twice and it puts two coding tags before and after the text. Here's what the codes would look like:
[blockquote][blockquote]The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog and then he went and massacred an entire city with a machine gun. yaaaaay, examples rock. lalalalalalalala.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
That alone does wonders, but then I go up to the first row (text still highlighted) and find the A with an up and down arrow. That's sizing. Once you click that, it will pop up like this:
[size=2][blockquote][blockquote]The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog and then he went and massacred an entire city with a machine gun. yaaaaay, examples rock. lalalalalalalala.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]
The default setting is 2, which is the size the text already is. I always, always, always change it to 0.
[size=0][blockquote][blockquote]The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog and then he went and massacred an entire city with a machine gun. yaaaaay, examples rock. lalalalalalalala.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]
That's the finished code, m'dear. Try out some coding! c:
