» With the rising sun came a sweltering heat, blown down the ebony-hued slopes by hot breezes which were flung up by seemingly nothing at all. With no cover save the long, yellowed grasses, the temperature was only magnified. For once, the feline was unendingly relieved to have such a thin coat of pallid fur, hell forbid he had been born with a black coat, Bonedance supposed he might have offed himself by now. However he was white as the snow and the wind tasted like summer and he couldn't have been more content with the weather. Squinting his harsh golden eyes, the tom peered into the cerulean sky, punctuated with ghostly wisps that may have been clouds. Pulsating spots blotched his vision soon though, his sight dwindling from the intensity of the sun and he looked down, continuing on his way and leaping from patch of soil or fertile soil. The long-dried lava which carpeted the land was now far too hot to safely walk across. Though the young warrior didn't particularly understand why, a small, handsome smile crept across his sharp features, so wide his fangs slightly protruded and glistened. Pure bliss, he decided. Life was well right now, all be praised. But the cheer vanished from his visage in an instant as the fur lining his spine erected itself unwillingly. Bonedance sucked in a bout of air and froze. The scent eminating from behind was undeniably canine. Undeniably that of a fox. Of course, he was in over his head. He could neither outrun nor outfight a fox which was surely four times his own size. Bonedance took another deep breath and slowly glanced over his shoulder, moving as little as he could help. The fox swished its long plume, rustling the grass ominously while the sun glinted off its scarlet fur, dazzling the young tom. Suddenly, every cuss Bonedance had encountered poured from his grimacing maw as the other creature sprang. « wow, just wow. can you please excuse this post? for some reason I can't roleplay at the moment. lol. this is terrible. okay done. reply away, save the boy. :C

x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xyour nightmares need only a year or two to unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hailstar padded along the edges of her territory, raising her pale muzzle to the soft, newleaf breeze. Ah, how she loved the season. The undergrowth was brimming with greenery and buds were blooming on the trees. A low branch tickled her ear and she twitched it, swiping her tongue over her jaws as she caught the sweet scent of the warm air. Then her territory spread onto the black volcanic rock that made up most of it. She couldn't help but feel irritated that she had gotten such a bleak part of the Clans' territory. But she was proud to be leader of EclipseClan, anyway.
The light gray she-cat padded lightly on, then saw a brilliant flash of fire ahead. She twitched her whiskers, confused. As she padded forward to investigate, she realized with dismay it was the swishing tail of a fox. At the same moment, she saw one of her warriors, Bonedance, crouching on the ground only a few tail-lengths from the predator. Hailstar moved fast, pushing her long legs. The fox suddenly leaped, its deadly claws outstretched.
The EclipseClan leader thought quickly. She had seven lives to throw away while the young warrior only had one. Swiftly, she thrust Bonedance out of the fox's reach, then tried to dart away herself. But the fox caught her hind leg and she howled in pain. Her sea-foam blue eyes glazed with fury, she unsheathed her claws and scored them across the creature's muzzle. The fox snarled in rage, its dark eyes glittering with hatred. But Hailstar clawed the fox's body, every part she could reach.
Eventually, the fox was going to have enough and run away. Hailstar was just twisting around to bite its ear when it suddenly grabbed her scruff and flung her against the shiny volcanic rock. Dizzy, Hailstar blinked to see the fox crouched above her, its fangs ready to plunge into her throat. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

» He was braced for impact. The young warrior's limbs instinctively locked as if this alone would block the blitzkrieg the fox had set into action. Bonedance knew the idea itself was ridiculous, but running would be of no more use, because with either option his small frame wasn't enough to be useful as it could be when feuding other cats. However when he finally felt the blow to his body which seemed to happen in slow motion, it was not accompanied by flashes of pain nor could he feel any blood seeping through his fur but instead simply felt a tail-length or two of air rush past followed by his shoulder contacting earth hot enough to be fire. He must have landed on the lavafield. With this recognition, Bonedance darted to his paws and scampered back to the fox, where what occurred suddenly made sense. The was a loud mingling of two bodies, fire and ice. He recognized the mottled silver tabby instantly and maneuvered to her side as quickly as the harsh terrain would allow.
Although it was hardly a time appropriate for noticing these things, Bonedance couldn't help but admire the way Hailstar moved like water. She was fierce in battle, but the fox had wild, mindless bloodlust and it wasn't an easy task to determine which beast was more likely to be victorious. But Bonedance wasn't about to let the fighting play out without some input from himself, for a coward he was not. As the leader was slammed onto her back, the fox approached her menacingly, but before the canine could deal the last blow, Bonedance slid across the hot rock and slammed his weight into the enemy's hind legs with as much force as he could muster. It was certainly enough to knock the fox on its ass, at least. The white tom shook himself off in the moment that the fox was stunned and dove in the nip at one of its tall ginger ears. He yowled sourly with the sensation of talons ripping through his fur, and then through his flesh. It wasn't the white-hot pain that hit him first, but the nausiating feeling of it all. There were claws from another animal inside of him, and that was enough to disgust him so thoroughly he heaved drily and rolled away. Pushing himself to his paws, the warrior panted in a dog-like manner, blistering rage glittering in his gaze now that he could feel hot blood staining his snowy pelt. « dfjkfhlk no comment, this is better than the last at least. :3 I hart battlessss. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xyour nightmares need only a year or two to unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hailstar opened her eyes wide in surprise as Bonedance came to her rescue. He slammed his white body into the fox's hind legs. The creature lost its balance and fell clumsily on its bottom. But it quickly recovered and slashed its claws at Bonedance. When the claws met their target, rage entered the young warrior's eyes. His snowy pelt was streaked with crimson blood. Hailstar sprang to her paws, ignored the scratch on her hind leg, and launched herself onto the fox's back. She clawed at its muzzle as the fox tried desperately to shake her off.
Finally, it seemed the fox had had enough. It flattened its tall ears and let out a short bark of desperation. It shook Hailstar off and she rolled neatly to the ground to land, spitting, a few tail-lengths from it. Tail between its legs, the fox loped away. The leader gave it a yowl before turning to her warrior.
"Bonedance," she meowed. "That was a marvelous spar to lighten my day." She twitched her tail, her paws still tingling with the excitement of the very recent battle. She loved to be in the quick motion that only a battle could offer. And she was the best, the fastest and fiercest of all. But even if she was the best of fighters, she couldn't escape without wounds. She winced as she limped over to Bonedance's side and flopped to the warm ground. She sniffed her bleeding leg warily and licked it to clean it a little. When she was finished, she glanced up at the white warrior. "What about you? Will you live?" Even though it was meant to be coldly sarcastic, she couldn't help but let a flicker of playfulness enter her tone. Her eyes already glowed with it.

» With a final dash, the tom lunged forth to score his knife-like talons along the fox's ribcage and even though he was prepared for a hasty recoil from the creature, he had no way of knowing to expect the sharp kick to his chin, which held enough force to shove him backwards, stumbling over his paws. He shook himself to regain orientation, but before the warrior could deal another blow, Hailstar had forced the invader to retreat, much to Bonedance's dismay. He glanced sharply at her, but didn't speak until he felt the tides of fury ebbing from his conscious, and the crimson hue faded from his vision. It would be no use to snap at the leader when he could hardly form sentences. Bonedance traced circles in a thick patch of volcano-grass and flopped down, temporarily exhausted with the sudden event's occurance.
Finally, the agony of battle-wounds hit him, as always it was quite delayed but as it hit, he clenched his jaws until he felt the bruise the kick to his chin had caused, then quickly unclenched with a silent whimper. He surveyed the damage done to Hailstar first, then glanced over his own body with a wince. His entire coat was now more of a soft pink than white, in combination of the constant movement of battle with the deep gash scoring his shoulder and the dribble of blood that seeped from the corner of his mouth, he was a right mess. "Yeah, my day has been drastically bettered," His voice was sharper than intended, but he shrugged it off, then curled up with the pain shrugging caused. The wound in his shoulder was a deep one, although hardly bleeding anymore he would be feeling it deep into his elder years. Still, she was right. He couldn't deny a love for fighting and the exhilaration of it all. Bonedance twitched his tail and set to drawing the blood, rapidly drying in the heat, out of his pale fur. "I think a visit to the river is in order to get this confounded blood out. Will you join me?" Will you live? "Be damned if I do, it's only a matter of time now." But what he had meant to be a lighthearted joke sounded to be much more of a cynical expression, after all his mother constantly told him whenever another cat was near to death, "We're all going to the same place in the end, the ground. It's only a matter of time." Needless to say, Brightsnow was not a follower of CelestialClan, nor was Bonedance's father. Neither, of course, was Bonedance but he tried his hardest not to let this interupt his clan duties. Simply a family matter.
"Anyway, come on doll. Keep this wounded soldier company will you?" He curled his tail in a rather friendly manner and took off into the deep forest in a smooth lope, although he cringed with each gait as the earth jolted his wounds with each bound. He hoped Hailstar was close on his tail, for he knew a deeply-shrouded area of the forest near the river which held a small pool, perfect for the occasion. « eeeee, these guys will be fun. bonedance, I dont know. I've never played him before so it's tough to tell where his personality is really going. I'm just getting used to him. bear with me please :3

x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xyour nightmares need only a year or two to unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -The EclipseClan leader purred, standing up to follow the young warrior. She padded by his side instead of going ahead, wanting to keep pace with him. She saw that he was in pain, but he tried not to show it. That made her proud to have him as a warrior. The Clan was full of such brave cats! But as she looked up at the sky, contempt filled her. CelestialClan had not brought her Clan this far. Her Clan had abandoned the warrior code and their warrior ancestors. And they were stronger - much stronger.
Hailstar heard the gentle gurgling of the river up ahead and she padded forward at a quicker pace, longing for the coolness that could soak into her pads and heal the scars. As she approached the bank, she tasted the air for any scents. She smelled only prey and the stale scent of fox, which seemed to be the one the two cats had chased off. She prodded the sparkling water, feeling the icy water clinging to her paw. Slowly, she put her front legs in the river, then her back legs. Soon, she was standing in the swirling water, shivering. But the cool waters washed away her crimson blood and left her wounds clean.
She got out and shook herself, then started licking her wound. Hailstar looked up, waiting for Bonedance.

» The forest grew thicker, with the trees widening in girth and hazardous-looking vines as wide as his stomach in some places dangled to the leaf-carpeted soil. The tom slowed some, clenching his teeth with the change of pace, but it was necessary for not only did the river loom nearer, but the forest floor was slick with dew-laced moss and moldy leaves and slipping in front of his leader was hardly what his pride needed at this point, with blood drizzling down his shoulder and maw. He felt Hailstar's presence at his side, but bothered not to look over at her. Instead, he lead the way to his little pool, branching from a tributary off of the main river, whose pressure and pollution he feared would take its toll on the various gashes he suffered. Picking his way down the stone-studded path, shrouded with vegitation, Bonedance finally came upon his favorite spot, although he hadn't visited it in some time.
The crystal-green water swirled gently in lazy circles around the center of the pond, fed by a spring and filtering out through the trickling stream back to the river. Cattails lined the edge of the clear water, and murk dusted the bottom. Eagerly, Bonedance waded into the pool, then gasped at the frigid temperature and the shock of translating from sweltering sunshine to bone-chilling icewater.
"Th-this is c-old!" The young tom was surprised to find his teeth chattering when he spoke, then laughed at the juvenile tone to his voice. "But it-it's pretty at l-least," He purred smugly, glad he had a chance to show the leader his little spring. He watched as the scarlet-kissed water drifted slowly into the stream, out of sight and out of mind, with his wounds numb now. He stepped out, snowy white once more, and flopped down in a sunny patch of moss. « music: champagne from a paper cup - death cab for cutie, she-wolf - shakira other: I dont knowww, lame. thats what this post is. {x oughta work on better dialogue I guess. :B

x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xyour nightmares need only a year or two to unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hailstar watched as Bonedance flopped down on the grass, dripping wet but white as snow once more. She glanced at her own coat, relieved to see it had returned to its normal light gray, almost white. The tabby stripes streaking her lithe body rippled as she twisted around to lick her shoulder wound. It bled feebly and under her gentle tongue-strokes it stopped. Satisfied, the EclipseClan leader got to her paws and sniffed about, looking for any herbs that might soothe her warrior's pain. Even though his wounds had been cleansed, he still looked like he was in pain.
The leafy plants all looked the same to her, but as she took in their scent, she remembered some of them from previous lives. She remembered the three foxes that had taken her first. The medicine cat had treated her with a mixture of burdock and juniper. She quickly took in the sharp scent of the burdock plant, growing up from the side of the crystalline pool.
"It really is a nice place," Hailstar murmured, loud enough for Bonedance to hear. "When did you find it?" She pawed at the burdock, testing how sturdy it was. Then she crouched down and started gnawing at it. When a few stems had fallen off, she started digging to reveal the precious roots that cured bites, especially a rat's. She bit them to release them from the soil and brought them over to the white warrior.
Without waiting for him to protest, she squeezed drops onto his wound. Once the liquid had pooled on it, she rasped her tongue over it. After a while, it soaked into his wound. Hailstar padded away to collect some cobwebs from the hollow of a tree. Returning, she pressed them to his leg and stood back, proud of how much she had done even though she was not a medicine cat.
"I learned that much only from how many battles I've been in," she meowed, glancing at Bonedance. She settled down beside him, content to view the beautiful scenery that she had not known her territory had provided.

» Working with the comfortably warm sunlight that covered him like a soft blanket, Bonedance curled up to draw the moisture from his frosty pelt with his tongue, making rhythmic sweeps along his fur with an open maw. His long canine teeth protruded crudely, unlike most cats and he resembled something wolfish or vampiric if anything, but these oddly long teeth worked to comb out his short, silky coat and he didn't mind, for he found himself strange looking enough with or without long teeth. Of course, with the sun glittering in his topaz eyes like an autumn fire, it was easy to argue this. but useless, too, for Bonedance cared not about appearance dispite his endless flirting. If anything, the playful exchanges he had with she-cats were nothing more than a silly game for him, he rarely expected anyone to take him seriously.
Just as he began to lull himself to sleep in the middle of his drying-session, he sensed Hailstar moving about and jolted to wakefulness, flopping his forepaws out before him, to steady his mass in the makeshift nest while he lifted a handsome pallid face attentively. "I don't remember, I've always known it. I feel like maybe my mom brought me out here when I was just a runty kit probably." He shrugged, then winked in a rather silly manner. "I only bring my favorite ladies out here." The tom purred, twitched his tail in silent laughter.
Before he could fend her off, Hailstar was dribbling some useless herb-juice into his ouches and he inhaled sharply, but said nothing. Instead, he sent her a glare of daggers and waited for the pale silver tabby to finish her nonsense to say anything. When she had settled herself near his patch of moss, he popped his jaws upon loudly, sniffing with indignity but rather than disrespecting the she-cat, he instead simply shut his mouth again, but not before poking his tongue out at her rather childishly. A long silence dragged out, but it was uncomfortable for Bonedance, awkward almost for he was no longer drowsy. "Uh..." He offered unhelpfully, then added a quiet 'thank you' to the end. "How... are you?" He asked, then snorted at his own pathetic attempt at conversation, but it wasn't Bonedance's fault he tended to interact with those of far less maturity than the noble leader. After all, he was a young tom. « music: to binge - gorillaz, time to pretend - MGMT, showbiz - muse other: hello, a slight bit of flirting, I'll see how hailstar handles that and throw more in later. :b

x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xyour nightmares need only a year or two to unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hailstar instantly sprang away from Bonedance, fury rolling off her in waves. How dare he try to flirt with her, his own leader, for StarClan's sake! She flattened her ears and lashed her tail, feeling thoroughly confused and angry. Confused because she couldn't imagine why Bonedance might be attracted to a cat like her. She was nothing special, apart from being Clan leader, and she was far from beautiful.
"Do you think you can pull those petty tricks on me?" she hissed, her temper breaking. Her icy eyes that had seemed like gentle ocean waves before were now hard and brittle. She completely ignored his attempts at calm conversation.
She broke off, staring at him. "What do you see in me, anyway?" she asked irritably. Slowly, she let her bristling fur lie flat, but it was forced. She couldn't let herself attack the Clanmate she had just saved.
Hailstar faced Bonedance, her tail held high and her eyes blazing blue fire. Her chin was held aloft and demanded an answer to her question. She wanted him to answer. She often wondered why toms sometimes cast looks of awe at her, as if she were something to gawk at. But she had quickly set them right and now toms only respected her for their leader, not a beautiful she-cat. Besides, she wasn't pretty. Her fur wasn't soft and smooth like the queens in the nursery. She was long-haired with thick clumps where she hadn't gotten to washing yet. Not to mention the several battle scars and the crimson tint to her fur after the recent battle with the fox.
Honestly, why did toms think this way about her?

» As soon as Hailstar caught wind of his flirting, Bonedance drove his fangs deep into his lower lip nervously until the pressure brought forth a sharp aching throughout his entire maw which in turn brought his bruised jaw to pain once more. Wrong move, apparently. Her anger hit him like a rock to the head, and he flattened his ears against the nape of his neck humbly, already regretting his words. But flirting was second nature to him, just as temperous words were second nature to Hailstar. Still, despite being cowed by her fury, Bonedance met her lucid gaze steadily, boring into her with deep golden gems of his own.
When she had finished, which took a moment that the white warrior could clearly see herself forcing herself back into a calmer disposition, the tom took a breath and waited another instance longer. He choked back a cheeky laugh which didn't take any bit of intelligence to know would be a terrible move and instead finally looked away and stared awkwardly toward his paws, folded neatly before him. The young tom still hadn't much to say, for not only was he dealing in a one-on-one with a female entirely regecting his games, but also the leader whom regarded him now with the nobility of an upset hawk. Still worse, there was no way to avoid the leader of the clan, with patrols and meetings and the like. Would she treat him with distaste now? Would he ever attend another gathering? As he mulled these thoughts silently over, he realized how silly they were and swallowed yet another chortle. Finally, he met her steely gaze again and parted his lips.
"Listen Hailstar," Well that was impressive, such silver-tongued wit, Bonedance! The warrior reprimanded himself, as if Hailstar was daydreaming about you ravishing her? Obviously she was already listening. He cleared his throat and tried again. "I'm real sorry, you know? It kind of slipped I guess, I'm just playin' with you, I'd never take advantage of you or anything like that. I don't really want to court, I mean-" He backtracked quickly, "I mean you're real pretty!" Wait, that's not something she wanted to hear either. Bonedance swallowed the lump in his throat, then his own gaze hardened into determination, for Bonedance wouldn't be treated as a child simply for his personality. "You're just pretty and powerful and all that but I wouldn't really try and start anything because that would be pretty improper and crude I think, and anyway I didn't mean anything by it, I was just fooling around because I guess it's just kind of natural to try and be smooth around ladies." He exhaled all at once, hardly meaning to babble. Had she been any other she-cat, the warrior would have talked her around, continued joking, caressed her face with his tail, but Hailstar wasn't just another female, she was right powerful and that frightened him. She could destroy him without laying a paw on him, therefor hardly worth the effort. « music: alot of the strokes, I suppose other: lol this is bad but dfklhglk too bad. haha, still trying to develop personality. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x xyour nightmares need only a year or two to unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hailstar stared at Bonedance a few moments longer than needed. She felt his eyes burn into hers but she met his gaze evenly, knowing she was the boss around here. She could do whatever she wanted to him. She started to think...what should his punishment be. She thought for a few moments, gazing thoughtfully at the white warrior.
Then she stopped. There would be no punishment. Bonedance had obviously spoken the truth and he was sorry for it. Hailstar was sorry, too. "Sorry for snapping at you," she muttered. "I understand. You know what, I actually didn't mind it." Her ears glowed hot with embarrassment. She remembered her lifelong dream - to have kits of her own, to have some feeling that she loved something more than herself. Her fur grew even more hot when she realized that would only be possible with a mate. But no tom could possibly fall for her. Then she glanced up at Bonedance.
He already thought she was pretty. But she cast the thought away almost instantly. She refused to think that she was attracted to him. He was strong, clever, witty...but that didn't make a mate. If she ever had one she would want one that was committed, and would continue to love her after she had her kits, when they were grown up and out of the nursery.
Hailstar flattened her ears. She was going too far. She might like Bonedance, but there was no knowing he liked her.
"Well, there's no use standing around here like a couple of moonstruck rabbits," she snapped. "Let's hunt. We might as well make ourselves useful." To her surprise, she liked the idea of hunting with the white warrior. She touched his shoulder with her tail-tip lightly, her eyes bright with amusement. Then she bounded away, her legs a blur among the undergrowth.

» A soft sigh gushed from the tom's maw, parted in anticipation to see her final decision but it was of relief as he watched her piercing seafoam gaze melt from indignant rage to thoughtful acception. Alas, he was forgiven. Bonedance realized in a heartbeat that he could no longer live in EclipseClan lacking all respect from his leader than he could survive leafbare stripped of his thick pelt. Silently praising her fair outlook, the tom once more met Hailstar's gaze thankfully, swishing his tail with ease returning while he recovered from the tense moment that passed between clanmates.
Bonedance allowed himself another heavy exhale before speaking again, twitching his nose with subtle cheer as he did so, "Well, we're cool again?" He asked playfully, a charming grin once more adorning his broad visage and with the words I actually didn't mind it, falling from her lips one by one, Bonedance's heart gave a frenzied leap into his throat, startling a chuckle from him. "Well." The small tom's sharp golden eyes glittered with something like satisfied amusement. He met her eyes with the coolheaded calm that was characteristic to him with females before breaking away and glancing to the heavens.
"It's nearly sunhigh already," He observed, then nodded vigorously, "Right you are, angelpaws. Let's kick it." He winked and trotted lightly through the screen of vines and excess foliage which formed the natural barrier against intruders to the pool, though he continued to wince bravely with every jarring step against the heavily pebbled shores of the river.
Still, he ignored the lingering pain of the fox ambush and slipped into a smooth gallop alongside Hailstar as she shot past him, her slender silver form gliding across the terrain with grace Bonedance envied. His stocky frame pushed along powerfully though, and he soon caught up panting heavily with crippling aches shooting down his shoulderblade and bruised jaw. "Aw come on, sweets, slow down! She opened her jaws, letting the scents of the forest wash over her. She could smell everything around here. Including the prey that was making its way across the undergrowth. She dropped fluidly into a crouch, stalking forward lightly with her tail hovering a hairs-width from the ground. Her hackles rose. She pounced, catching her prey between her paws. The mouse struggled for a heartbeat before Hailstar bit its throat.
The EclipseClan leader moved away from her catch and took a wary bite, letting the flavor soothe her and calm her nerves. She picked it up and brought it over to Bonedance, thinking it would only be polite to have a bit. He looked like he was in pain from his wounds. She ignored her own pain, since she experienced it only too often, and sat down to wait from him to eat.
As she waited, she cast her icy eyes to the sky above. It really was pretty, dotted with clouds that raced across the forget-me-not blue. She sighed, then looked down to earth again, watching her companion closely.

» Pausing as he felt the she-cat's plush tail smack gently into his broad chest, and he allowed her to continue surveying the land for several moments longer whilst rolling his eyes dramatically and giving a soundless huff of exasperation until the scent she had already picked up drifted into his scent-detecting glands with an idly inhale. Rather than prick his ears to take in the forest's song and locate the nearby mouse as he ought, Bonedance instead sat lightly upon his haunches and kept his tail raised- ensuring complete quiet- and observed the pallid female before him gracefully stalking the certain future prey. Eyes gleaming appreciatively, the tom admired her fluid skill from the distance as she snuffed the mouse's life. He hadn't the attention to spare to watch her battling the fox, but he was certain it must have been an awesome sight, with grace like hers. Keeping his gaze set on her now, Bonedance's mouth flooded as the warm scent of her kill reached him.
He rose again, spine stiff with the roar his stomach issued as the pleasant aroma met his nose and mouth, cautious silence now shattered unceremoniously. Ivory canine teeth glittered in the bold sunshine when he pulled something of a sheepish grin at Hailstar, then looked away from her eating by courtesy, though he returned his gaze to the broken mouse within a moment, tantalized.
Offered a bit to chew before he would break away to hunt for the clan, the small white warrior surged forward at once, thunderous growls still eminated from his belly as he crouched over the meager meal.
