A quick smile had been flashed at her from the leader before he spoke. That small sign of happiness made Specklefur feel better, and his words, "I try not to.
[/i]" gave the dappled she-cat even more comfort. Perhaps he would get through this easily, provided he got help from the others in his Clan. Heck, Specklefur would try to be there for him until the whole thing blows over. The younger cat watched as the older cat paced with a peaceful expression on his face. When he turned back, there was something shining in his eyes like never before. She shot a half-smile at him that may have ended up being a smirk, but for once she didn't care. Just to be doing something and not staring at the creamy tom, she brought up her paw, as she was now sitting, and licked it. Her hazel eyes investigated her somewhat dirty paws. Meh, she didn't feel obliged to clean them now. Flipping her paw over, she examined her paw pads and checked for any little thorns that might have become hidden away in them while they had been out in the territory. Setting it down, she looked up to the leader and meowed. " I should most likely be going now, Ashstar. I want to see our deputy a few more times before she's...gone." Were the words that slipped through her lips. Her tone was nearly monotonous, but yet it wasn't. Perhaps it was a slight tinge of grief in the she-cats voice, for even the speaker did not know. Of course, she would not leave until her leader gave her some kind of a sign of acknowledgement. note: bah, time skip to night? maybe neither of them can get to sleep so they go out hunting at niiight. :0 my post is crap, but i couldn't think of anything. ;-;[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

ashstar((haha. okay, and no it's not.))
Ashstar listened to her and nodded. With a small flick of his tail he dismissed her and continued to his thinking. By the time an hour had passed he was laying down, looking at his paws. It had not been long, but already he was growing weary, and he knew that he should sleep, less his strength fails him. So he closed his eyes.
And he dreamed.
"Ashstar?" The cream-coloured tom opened his eyes and looked around. He was no longer in his den - he was in a starry field. He got up and looked for the voice. "Ashstar, over here." The voice sounded familiar, but it also sounded bored. He tentatively padded over to the voice and saw that it was a tan cat. He couldn't make out who it was, but it looked like Miststar. The great feline smiled down at him.
"What do you want?" He asked. Even in his dreams he sounded tired, but he tried not to show it. The starry feline laughed. "Don't blame yourself for what happened. And, so you know, you're about to intertwine with one so different from you, it's a miracle you two haven't killed each other yet." With a throaty laugh, she touched her nose to his, and his world was black once more.
Ashstar blinked and spun around a few times. Then when he realized that that was a dream he relaxed and sat down. The gentle pitter patter of rain was going on outside. I'm about to intertwine with what? "What is so different from me?" He wondered, shaking his head. Surely there was no such thing. Sure, he was different from other cats, but not by much. Well, in taste of... yeah.
Once again there was the shuffle of sand and grass at the front of his den, and this time there was a smile to his face. "Come in, don't just stand there." He said with a yawn. He licked his chest fur and turned around. His eyes widened in surprise. How often was he going to see this she-cat?

She had slept dreamlessly and soundly for once, and she was glad of this. Rain clouds were widely spread across the sky and ceaselessly releasing their heavy loads. A small puddle had formed outside of the den she shared with a few other Warriors, and she lapped a bit from it. The water was clean enough for her to drink without being digusted or sickened though it was not a clear color. Stretching, her eyes wandered over to Ashstar's den. Why am I so intrigued by him lately? Specklefur asked herself in her mind. Closing her eyes and looking to the sky, she let the rain pound onto her face and soak her fur. Shivering with what she supposed was refreshing pleasure, her hazel eyes flicked open and her paws led her to the den of her leader. A short sigh later, she heard the voice of that creamy tom. "Come in, don't just stand there.
[/i]" Was the cheery meow that came from the den. Hmph, he must not know that it's just me again. She thought, and stepped in. His wide, surprised blue eyes made her smirk, and speak up. " Hello, Ashstar. I'm bored, and I do hope you can think of something entertaining to do." The young she-cat muttered in a bothered tone. Nothing had happened to tick her off but her own self. Sometimes that just happened to her, and even CelestialClan couldn't understand why she was so disagreeable with every cat around including her own despicable carcass. " I do very hope that I didn't interupt anything important." Specklefur meowed sharply. If sarcasm was visible, it would have formed clouds above her and poured down upon her speckled silver and white fur just as the rain did outside. Hazel eyes ablaze in the darkened atmosphere of the den, she looked him over quickly. His hair was a bit messy from sleep, but otherwise he was as same as ever. Flicking her tail back and forth with a falsely impatient look on her face, she waited for his response.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

ashstarSpecklefur. Why were they talking so much lately? It was something that puzzled him, but so far she hadn't annoyed him. Much. Your paths will intertwine... was this what she was speaking about? Am Specklefur and I fated to become friends? Allies? What? he pondered this for a moment before realizing that she was already speaking to him. He smiled sheepishly.
"Hello, Ashstar. I'm bored, and I do hope you can think of something entertaining to do." Pause. "I do very hope that I didn't interrupt anything important." Another pause before she continued onto her business. He smirked. "Oh, I hope so, too." He padded past her and to the entrance of his den. He turned to face her. "Walk with me?" Without really waiting for an answer, he padded forward.
It was overcast - not raining anymore. He licked his chest fur and checked himself to make sure that he didn't look too bad, and smiled when he noted that he looked fine. He paused for a moment and looked around the camp. Though Lunarwind had died, most everybody had already gone back to their duties and leisurely activities. It bothered him how the life of a feline could be thrown away so easily - to be replaced by another. The circle of life.
As he passed the nursery something bit his tail and he turned around. He noticed that there was a young kit batting at his tail, and it made him laugh. He gently pushed it away and continued on his journey. He didn't know where he wanted to walk, but, he decided to make the most of it. Just before he hit the camp entrance somebody bumped into him. He looked around and tilted his head when he realized what happened. "Why did you do that?" He asked, voice light.

He was smirking. Hmph, the nerve of that tom. "Walk with me?
[/i]" Ashstar asked, yet it sounded more like a command than a question to Specklefur. Oh, but she had nothing better to do than trail after that cream furred blue-eyed tom all day. Before she could even think about replying to his words, he had all but evacuated the Camp in a most timely manner. Specklefur no longer had the comfort of rain coming from above to relax her, but the cloudy atmosphere still had more joy in it to her than bright sunshine. It brought her a bit of joy when she saw a small kitt playing with her leader's tail, and a small chuckle escaped from her as the young she-cat shook her head from side to side. Realizing that there might be cats around her questioning her odd behavior, she quickly shoved her mask back on and hid behind her grouchy personality. Just as Ashstar was about to vacate the camp, she reached up her paw to jab him softly, but ended up tripping instead and bumping right into him. Cursing under her breath, she sputtered out a mouthful of grass and her face grew hot beneath her fur. " Why did you do that?[/i] That tom said in a light tone. Oh, that got her fired up. " I tripped over my own paws because you've been trotting about forgetting about me! You're the one who asked me to walk with you in the first place!" Spat the now riled up she-cat. Don't be like this, Specklefur! She chided herself on the inside. Suddenly, she felt obliged to apologize, and muttered out a quiet sorry to the tom who had been nice enough to put up with her during the last day or so. Either he was lonely like her, or they were both being stupid.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size][/color]

ashstarHe thought that he made his voice light enough to make it seem like he didn't care. honestly, he didn't. "I tripped over my own paws because you've been trotting about forgetting about me! You're the one who asked me to walk with you in the first place!" Ashstar was taken aback. This she-cat was giving him whiplash. He narrowed his eyes and snorted.
"Forgetting you? Just because I was not talking to you for what, five minutes?" He looked away, not hearing her apology. Rolling his eyes he padded away from Specklefur with his neck fur up and his tail swishing back and forth. How rude could she be? Did he have to give her all his undivided attention? How rude was it to suspect that of someone, no?
The tom didn't know why he let himself get so upset so easily. He was more level-headed than that. He sighed and turned around a little, but he stopped himself. Was he going to need to apologize for getting mad? probably. Well, she would have to apologize herself. Until then, well, he didn't know what he was going to do, to be honest.
((This okay? Couldn't think of a reply, and if I wrote more, it would be angsty. :\))

Oh, ho, ho. That tom had gone too far now. It took everything she had not to cuff him over the head with her front right paw. His words were so cold and hateful, but then again, her words were rude. "I said I was sorry, tom." Specklefur spat at the Clan leader. With a huff, she swallowed the hurtful words she had nearly thrown at him after that. Hold them in, Specklefur. Learn to be nice to the one cat in your life that's being kind to you! She cried out in her head. "Ashstar, I'm sorry! I tripped and I just let that irritation out on you. Please, I don't want to be alone today...I'm sick of it!" The young she-cat cried out in genuine loneliness and fear. Though her voice sounded heavy and like she was on the verge of tears, she was not. Crying had never really been an option for the silver and brown dappled white she-cat since she usually made the other cat lacrimate. That tom was going to drive her mad. Anger no longer glinted in her hazel eyes, but there was some kind of emotion in them. What it was, even she was not too sure. Sighing, she looked up at him with a plea in her eyes, and opened her mouth to say more but found that no words would come out. Great, now I've become a mute. Her true personality muttered in her head. "If you don't want me around, I'll cut the pathetic act and leave you to your business." She croaked, and turned around to examine the Clan camp, doing it in what she tried to make look like a nonchalant way.

ashstarThough he was leader he really didn't have that many friends. Most cats didn't bother talking to him, or finishing a conversation. Only a few cats had bothered to put up with him, and Specklefur was one of them. Guilt was touching at his heart and he sighed as he turned around to go and apologize.
"Ashstar, I'm sorry! I tripped and I just let that irritation out on you. Please, I don't want to be alone today...I'm sick of it!" Ashstar tilted his head and held in a laugh. How horrid would that be if he laughed, and she misinterpreted it? Oh, how the thought began to plague him.
He was about to speak when she opened her mouth again. "If you don't want me around, I'll cut the pathetic act and leave you to your business." Eyes growing sad he padded over to her and pressed his nose into her fur. It was a friendly gesture, one he used to do with his kin. He moved back and looked at her, eyes level with hers.
"No, I overreacted. I apologize. It was rude of me to say that. I enjoy your company." With a softer, almost inaudible voice, he spoke again. "I don't want to be alone either." The tomcat averted his gaze as he felt his ears grow hot. How she must think ill of her leader. He mentally sighed. Great.

Wow. Just, wow. When that tom pressed his nose into her varying in length fur, Specklefur shivered. Suddenly, her face and ears heated up. Thank CelestialClan no one could see how flushed she was. Ashstar's words took a moment for her to compute as her thoughts and hearing slowed down. If she had been speaking, it would have been slurred. What an odd thing to do to a she-cat he wasn't really friends with. Oh well. Obviously, this she-cat did not mind. "I enjoy your company.
[/i]" The leader mewed to her. Yep. She could add sweet talking she-cas to the list of things Ashstar did. Before anything could be said by her, Specklefur had to strain her ears to catch the tom's next few words. " I don't want to be alone either.[/i]" With a quick, wide eyed look at her leader, she tried to tuck herself away into her grouchy persona and found that she could not. With a mixed expression on her face that was between a scowl, a smirk, and a smile Specklefur looked long and hard at that tom. His eyes were such a deep blue. Hmph. Was the only thought she had. " How about that walk, tom?" The she-cat meowed in a pleasant tone as she walked past him and continued into the territory. Looking back she grinned at the handsome tom that stood there, but as soon as she realized what she was doing her face slipped into a frown. Oh, what fun. note: terrible. short in length, and rushed. next time will be better. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

ashstar((I AM A REBEL AGAINST CAPS.) "How about that walk, tom?" ashstar smirked and watched as she smiled at him. his smirk started to turn into a smile when he realized she was frowning again. he almost wanted to laugh, but he knew better, so he just smiled at her and began to walk again. a few cats looked at them for that episode they just had, and ashstar blandly ignored them. keep the past locked up in a box. thats what he always thought, but now he was starting to doubt it. oh well. he knew who he wanted to choose for deputy, and he was sure the clan would approve. would specklefur approve? he guessed it wouldn't hurt if he asked. before he got to the entrance of the camp he turned and smiled. "do you think spiceshine would make a good deputy?" he asked in a low voice.

Conflict. Yes, conflict. That was just how she worked. One minute she was trying to bite the head off of the tom and the next she was breaking bread with him. But, of course, the moment she did think they might be on the road to a friendly relationship, her harsh inner flame singed the edges of her nice words. Yep, Specklefur was just one big ball of conflict. The worse part was that she couldn't even control it. Shooting a short glance to the side, she quickly inspected the tom. He looked as if he was engulfed in thought. Hmm. She thought. I can't remember the last time I tried thinking before I spoke. Or acted. Perhaps that would help me try not to be a hothead all the time. With another flick of the eyes toward her leader, she realized he had been talking. "..a good deputy?" Crap. He had asked her opinion about something. Think, girl, think! What had he been saying? Spiceshine. Yes, that's what he said. "Er..uhm..Spiceshine? A good deputy? Ah, well. She's a good honest gal and she listens well," Unlike me! The flustered she-cat added mentally."or at least I've heard she does." Something was telling her thinking wasn't going to work out for her at the present moment. Suddenly she felt eyes on her. Oh, he's probably looking at me with amusement in his eyes, thinking, 'Look at her! What a big fuss she makes out of everything. Why am I wasting my time with her when I could be running about doing things that are important for the Clan?' Yeah, Specklefur. He's definitely thinking that. She thought once more. Oh, now she was being the quiet, awkward type. Maybe being a brash and sassy hothead was better. "Exactly what type of a walk is this going to be, Tom?" She meowed brightly in only a slightly indignant tone. Turning back to see him, she met her hazel eyes to his blue eyes once again. Such a pretty color as always. "It better not be the type where the all-powerful leader tries to woo the hotheaded demon of a she-cat into answering a bunch of questions. I'd just have to run away if it were so." She meowed, tilting her head to the side as if taunting the tom somehow. With a smile, she turned about and looked around in front of her. Emerald there, emerald here, emerald everywhere. Specklefur had never grown bored with AstralClan's green land. Who would?
NOTE: OHMYGOD. COMEPLETE AND UTTER CRAP. PLEASE FORGIVE ME.
